Seals are great at keeping liquids out – but some have such high vapour permeability rates that gases can pass through them virtually unchecked (e.g cellulose, EVOH or PVOH). Water vapour is believed to be the world's biggest contaminate and virtually every country has passed hydrocarbon permeability safety legislations. 

Fortunately, Versaperm has developed a new range of equipment to measure this problem for virtually any application and gas - from water vapour to hydrocarbons and from solvents through to hydrogen, oxygen, CO2 , helium any beyond.

So now you can tell which materials, seals, mastics, or O rings  are right for your application and product line.   

The new Versaperm's Water Vapour Transmission meter can cope with several samples, seals or enclosures at a time, often give a reading in as little as 30 minutes –conventional gravimetric testing takes days or even weeks to achieve the same thing - and is significantly less accurate. Both pressure and temperature are optionally controllable over a wide range.

The meter is easy to use and gives a series of measurements that can be recorded or read off a screen.  It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most, minimal training to give results that can be as accurate to better than one part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million). 

As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm offers a water vapour (plus almost all other gases) permeability laboratory service for companies that only need to test samples on an irregular basis.
